Browser exploration game
Open Range
Open Range begins with a simple invitation: wake up and find your way home. I built the world around that journey, using shared rules to give its generated parts a consistent character.

The problem
Generating individual game assets is easier than making them belong together. A world can contain plenty of detail and still feel visually disconnected. I wanted exploration to feel like moving through one place rather than a collection of unrelated pieces.
What I built
The game draws its tiles, characters, and landmarks in code from a constrained palette. Procedural generation creates the terrain and names, while characters give the player clues about the route home. The browser also generates the music. The landing-page preview comes from the same renderer as the game, so the invitation reflects the world a player will enter.
The result
Open Range is playable in the browser. Its main design outcome is a coherent system for producing a world, not simply a larger pile of assets. It connects my interests in software and storytelling: rules create the space for discovery, while the journey gives that space a purpose.
